The Chiu Yuen Cemetery

Eurasian Cemetery in Hong Kong

In 1915, the Hong Kong Government granted the plot of land where part of the Cemetery is currently located, by way of Government Lease for 999 years from 1st March 1897, to the late Sir Robert Ho Tung and the late Mr. Ho Fook for use as Eurasian Cemetery.  The Eurasian Cemetery was later known as Chiu Yuen Cemetery.  The administration and management of the Chiu Yuen Cemetery was formalized by the incorporation of The Chiu Yuen Cemetery as a company limited by guarantee in 1958.  The next of kin of deceased members of the Eurasian community of Hong Kong may apply for interment or niche use right within the Cemetery.
